After learning of the TopTenz channel on Youtube, I watched their Top 10 Terrifying Prehistoric Sea Monters video. The three creatures that freaked me out the most were:

- The prehistoric predator that most people know of is the Megalodon. For those who aren’t aware of this beast, a Megalodon is a shark that is up to 60 feet long. Alive nearly 2.6 million years ago, these creatures are well know in modern times due to the movie “The Meg” from 2018. The main reason this creature freaked me out as much as it does is there is still a chance that these monstrosities may still be alive today (although scientists say it is a very slim chance).
- Another of the sea creatures that I’m thankful for being extinct is the Liopleurodon. 20 to 50 feet in length(actual length is still debated) the Liopleurodon had a fifth of its body size being its head, perfect for grabbing huge dinosaurs that neared its domain. That is horrifying seeing as dinosaurs could easily eat humans in one bit depending on the species. Now imagine your swimming and a Lioplerodon swims up near you. And scientists agree that this nightmare of an animal could make extremely agile full burst movements when necessary.
- Possibly the scariest known creature from the deep was the Livyatan melvillei, which is a giant sperm whale that ate other whales. Its head was ten feet long with teeth that topped out at 1.18 feet. With Eco-location, this whale could navigate even the murkiest of waters. Not to mention that this whale lived in the same areas as Megalodons and still managed to thrive. This whale was even named after the Laviathan from the bible and the author of Moby Dick.
